Foot & ankle injuries

Understanding foot & ankle pain

The foot and ankle absorb load with every step, run and jump — often several times your body weight on impact. Small deficits in strength, mobility or control here rarely stay local; they tend to travel further up the chain to the knee, hip and back, or show up as recurring sprains and flare-ups that never quite settle.

We assess how you stand, walk, run and move to identify the true source of your pain, rather than just treating the site where it hurts.

Common foot & ankle conditions we treat

  • Ankle sprains and chronic instability
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Shin splints and peroneal tendinopathy
  • Stress fractures
  • Post-surgical or post-fracture rehabilitation

Our approach

Treatment combines hands-on therapy with a progressive loading and strengthening programme, along with balance and proprioception work to restore stability and confidence in your stride.

Where relevant, we'll also look at your running gait and footwear, and build a return-to-activity plan that reduces the risk of the injury coming back once you're moving freely again.
